    The Kanaka Kitchen is a Confectionery Artistry Studio located in the historic neighbourhood of Kanaka Creek, Maple Ridge. We are Culinary Artisans that craft our products from scratch using real ingredients and work with other local vendors to achieve a common goal.

 

   Our mission is to inspire a new way of experiencing food and provoke creative thinking. Fundamentally, we are artists and use ingredients as our medium to express ourselves.  Our dedication, passion and our love for the game make us anything but ordinary and we continuously strive to push boundaries on what’s expected. Imagination and creativity is our secret ingredient.

Hey, I'm Erin!

I’ve always believed that food has the power to do more than just nourish—it can tell stories, spark imagination, and bring people together in the most unexpected ways. As a confectionery artist and the heart behind The Kanaka Kitchen, I pour that belief into everything I create.

For me, sugar, flour, chocolate—these are my paints, my tools, my playground. I love taking everyday ingredients and pushing them beyond their limits—challenging myself to see them differently, use them differently, and ultimately, create something unforgettable. Whether it’s a sculpted cake that makes you pause or a whimsical dessert that makes you smile, my work is rooted in boldness, creativity, and a little bit of magic.

The Kanaka Kitchen was born from a desire to express freely, think outside the box, and inspire others to do the same. My kitchen is a space where creative freedom thrives, where imagination runs wild, and where the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

More than anything, I hope my creations bring people joy and wonder—and maybe even spark a little creativity of their own. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the sweets. It’s about connection, expression, and the beautiful things that happen when we come together around food and inspire each other.
